7. Data collection from trade fair contacts and online customer surveys

We use the Uniqode platform from Uniqode Phygital, Inc, 575 5th Avenue, New York, NY 10017, to collect contact details at trade fairs and events and to conduct online customer surveys on our websites.

Uniqode in use at trade fairs and events:

Uniqode enables the creation of QR codes and digital business cards for sharing links and contacts. We use the service to collect contact details at trade fairs and events for the purpose of further contact beyond the respective event.

The use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time.

After the trade fair or event has ended, your data will be transferred to our internal systems and deleted by the provider Uniqode. The data you send us will remain with us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to its storage, or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g., after your request has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions—in particular statutory retention periods—remain unaffected.

Uniqode as a tool for conducting online customer surveys:
We occasionally conduct online customer surveys on our website in order to improve the quality of our products and services and to better understand your needs. Participation in these surveys is voluntary. We collect personal data such as your contact details, survey responses, or other information you voluntarily provide. This data is processed solely for the purpose of evaluating the surveys and using the findings to improve our offerings.
Your information is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to collect feedback in order to tailor our offerings to your needs.
Participation in the survey is voluntary, and you can object to the processing of your data at any time for the future without this affecting your previous data. The data collected will only be used for the evaluation of the survey and will not be passed on to uninvolved third parties.

The results of the survey will be evaluated in anonymized or pseudonymized form, so that conclusions about individual persons can only be drawn with separate, express consent.
You have the right to information, correction, deletion, or restriction of the processing of your personal data at any time, as well as the right to data portability. To exercise your rights or if you have any questions, please contact the persons listed in this privacy policy.

8. Newsletter Data

If you would like to receive our newsletter on a voluntary basis in the context of events or business contacts, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected or is only collected on a voluntary basis. We use newsletter service providers, which are described below, to process the newsletter.

Rapidmail

We use Rapidmail for sending newsletters. The provider is rapidmail GmbH, Augustinerplatz 2, 79098 Freiburg i.Br., Germany.

Rapidmail is a service that can be used to organize and analyse the sending of newsletters, among other things. The data you provide for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter is stored on Rapidmail’s servers in Germany.

Data analysis by Rapidmail

For the purpose of analysis, the emails sent with Rapidmail contain a so-called “tracking pixel”, which connects to the Rapidmail servers when the email is opened. In this way, it can be determined whether a newsletter message has been opened.

We can also use Rapidmail to determine whether and which links in the newsletter message are clicked on. All links in the email are so-called tracking links, which can be used to count your clicks. If you do not wish to be analyzed by Rapidmail, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link for this purpose in every newsletter message.

For more information on Rapidmail’s analysis functions, please see the following link: https://de.rapidmail.wiki/kategorien/statistiken/.

Legal basis

Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

Storage period

The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your e-mail address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist will only be used for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.

For more information, please refer to Rapidmail’s data security information at: https://www.rapidmail.de/datensicherheit .

9. Download area for registered website visitors (“Media Portal”)

We offer registered users of our website a download area where certain files can be downloaded directly. Some files are provided via the cloud service Dropbox, One Park Place, Floor 5, Upper Hatch Street, Dublin 2, Ireland.

You do not need to register or log in to Dropbox; Dropbox merely acts as a technical service provider for the provision of the files.

When downloading the files, your IP address is transmitted to Dropbox to enable the download. Dropbox does not process your personal data any further.

The provision of downloads serves the legitimate interest of our company in providing you with content in an uncomplicated and secure manner (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Your data will be used exclusively for the technical processing of the download and will not be passed on to third parties.

The company is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF).
