Regional Sales Manager (Central)

Summary of position

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing leads and driving capital sales of joimax endoscopic systems and recurring disposable sales. This position requires execution of a capital sales process/methodology. The RSM will achieve regional sales and product mix budget through direct sales efforts, lead follow up, and distributors; support surgeon education and training with the clinical education team; and represent joimax® and its products in a positive and professional manner to patients and health care professionals at all times.

Extensive travel, to include overnight stays, within the assigned territory is required.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals for your assigned territory.
  • Implement sales strategies, tactics, and programs as per market and as directed by management.
  • Convert surgeons to Joimax endoscopic systems and products and close system sales in target facilities.
  • Recruit, hire, train and manage distributors to represent the joimax product line in the assigned territory.
  • Sustain a high level of communication with the clinical education team to ensure a timely, high-quality education and training on joimax techniques and products for surgeons and health care providers.
  • Review monthly year over year sales performance and forecasts for the region and utilize information for corrections or ongoing account management.
  • Support spine conferences, workshops and other marketing events as needed or as directed by management.
  • Operate effectively within the defined territory and within expense budgets.
  • Assist in guiding customers and distributors in developing and growing territory and user base.
  • Direct management of distributor network in territory (stocking and non-stocking distributors) as well as developing new distributors.
  • Support cases with surgeons in an O/R setting utilizing joimax system knowledge.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life science or business from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of five years of successful direct sales experience in the medical device industry particularly within the spine market.
  • Experience in capital equipment sales (preferably selling spine hardware).
  • Experience developing a distributor network.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills. Provide clear, concise objectives and direction to the sales distributors and internal sales staff.
  • Use proven training and coaching skills to develop and grow distributor sales representatives to achieve greater success in the territory.
  • Ability to handle and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Must be able to work independently from a home office and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to organize, set priorities and maintain company protocol as it relates to field sales activities.
  • Possess a good understanding and application of professional selling skills required.
  • Promote and propagate a strong “customer first” attitude to all employees and distributors.

Clinical Specialist – SoCal/Southwest

Summary of position

The Clinical Specialist may support multiple joimax® accounts and is responsible for increasing clinical utilization of joimax® endoscopic spine surgery programs. Support the adoption and use of joimax® techniques and products by surgeons, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers through education and training. Coordinate and support cadaver training labs & workshops, support surgeons during evaluations and first cases with joimax® products and assist with providing clinical and product training to sales managers and distributor sales teams. This position reports to a Regional or Territory Sales Manager and/or Area Sales Director.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Coordinate the set-up and logistics for training workshops and deliver high quality training experiences for target surgeons, operating room staff and potential customers.
  • Provide case coverage for surgeons conducting evaluations and first cases with joimax® techniques and products as they move to becoming consistent joimax® users and customers.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on the joimax® technique and products to distributor sales representatives as necessary to optimize field sales efforts.
  • Sustain a high level of communication with sales team to ensure timely, high-quality education and training on joimax® techniques and products for surgeons and health care providers.
  • Prepare, analyze and report monthly education and training activities in support of the sales team to close new system sales.
  • Support spine conferences, workshops and other marketing events as scheduled by the headquarters office and management.
  • Operate effectively within the defined territory and within expense budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical or life sciences, or equivalent experience through a medical sales college program
  • Prefer minimum 2 years’ experience working in an operating room environment, representation of surgical products in an operating room setting, or experience in spine surgery
  • Self-starter with excellent strategic ability and creative thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate joimax information in a clear, concise manner to the sales team and customers
  • Comfortable handling and resolving employee and/or customer issues in a timely and professional manner or know when to escalate to sales management for assistance.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal direct supervision
  • Promote and propagate a strong “customer first” attitude to all employees
  • Ability to work in a home office environment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with significant overnight travel required
