TESSYS® Thx Instruments
The structures and anatomy of the thoracic spine – the pleura, spatial restrictions due to the ribs – present a particular challenge for spinal surgery. With this in mind, the access instruments of TESSYS® Thx were ergonomically optimized and the resection instruments, such as the Endo-Kerrisons and the punching forceps, were specifically adapted for this application.
The working channel of the TESSYS® Thx Foraminoscope® is 3.1 mm. This allows the use of punches, forceps and shaver blades. The working length of 120 mm and direction of view of 45° are tailored for the thoracic spinal canal. The larger viewing angulation – compared to lumbar application – allows the steeper access route while simultaneously maintaining optimal route to the pathology.
The Bone Drills are adapted to the thoracic region and offered in a variety of sizes to meet individual patient anatomy.
The Reamer is used over the guiding rod specifically sized for thoracic applications.
Effective forceps for removing tissue with various jaws, also angled and semi-flexible.
Strong Endo-Kerrisons with 3.0mm Outer Diameter and 3.0mm Footprint
Navigated Instruments
Due to the anatomically challenging situation, the Intracs® em offers an easy and intuitive solution to accurately access the “safety zone” between rib head and the pedicle. During the procedure, the position of the instruments is continuously monitored. The navigated instruments can be integrated seamlessly into the surgical workflow.
The position of the patient can be determined at any time via the Patient Tracker.
