We are thrilled to announce that in 2024 joimax® has achieved:

Announcement of the cooperation with UpSurgeOn
We are excited to announce a new cooperation with UpSurgeOn (https://www.upsurgeon.com/). With the Endoscopic LumbarBox and Posterior CervicalBox models customized by UpSurgeOn for joimax®, we offer the opportunity to train with hyper-realistic spine models for endoscopic lumbar and cervical surgery. These highly accurate anatomical models are designed for wet and dry simulations and come with an integrated water management system for a realistic experience.

Education Activities


This year, ESPINEA® Endoscopic Spine Academy celebrated its fifth anniversary. The Academy is one of only 4 centers in the whole world accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. ESPINEA® ensures all joimax® workshops consistently provide the highest level of surgical training on spinal endoscopy. Through its many research partnerships, ESPINEA® serves as a source of continued advancement in the field of spinal endoscopy research and publication.
Over the years, ESPINEA® and joimax® have successfully trained over 4,800 surgeons from all over the world. In China, we have trained at least over 2,700 surgeons more. Only in 2024, ESPINEA® offered about 65 workshops and trained approximately 500 surgeons worldwide.
ESPINEA® Learning Experience
Online Webinar Series
In 2024, our ESPINEA® Endoscopic Spine Academy was delighted to launch the ESPINEA® Learning Experience Online Webinar Series. The series has received great interest from surgeons worldwide. To date, three (3) webinars have been introduced including Endoscopic Applications in Spinal Oncology, Endoscopic Thoracic Transforaminal Decompression and Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Spine Surgery.
Internationally renowned faculty such as Prof. Albert Telfeian, Dr. Ralf Wagner, Junseok Bae MD, Sean Barber MD, Sanjay Konakondla MD , Woo-Keun Kwon MD, PhD, Anil Mahavadi MD, Lynn Mcgrath MD, Dr. Javier Quillo-Olvera, Raed Abohussein, and Nelson Sofoluke MD participated in the webinars as speakers. The latest advancements, techniques, studies and case examples were presented during the webinars.

Event and Congresses Highlights

In 2024, joimax® presented at many global highlight events such as Global Spine Congress in Bangkok, Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) in Chicago, EUROSPINE in Vienna, 19th Annual Meeting of the German Spine Society (DWG) in Hamburg, Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, the North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Meeting in Chicago, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Annual Meeting in Houston, and many other events. EUROSPINE 2024
The EUROSPINE Annual Meeting 2024, a highlight event for spine professionals, took place from 2nd to 4th October at Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center in Vienna. The event attracted 3.631 participants from 84 countries around the world.
joimax®’s special activities at EUROSPINE 2024 included Lunch Symposium on the Red Stage, many insightful Expert Talks at joimax® booth, Distributor Meeting and Faculty Dinner. Particularly, during the Lunch Symposium, all three approaches, including Transforaminal, Biportal Interlaminar and Cervical Posterior Foraminotomy, were demonstrated to more than 200 attendees in just 60 Minutes using the UpSurgeOn models.
DWG Hamburg
The 19th Annual Meeting of the German Spine Society (#DWG) was held from 27th to 29th November at the Congress Center Hamburg. The main theme of this year was spine between clinical experience and artificial intelligence. Other key topics were degenerative diseases, medical register, and complication management. The event brought together spine specialists from all over the world.
At DWG 2024, joimax® hosted an exclusive Lunch Symposium that attracted more than 100 participating surgeons. Additionally, the Expert Talks by our esteemed faculty also met with great interest. Latest products were showcased at the event, including RoboFIX®, Camsource® Duo and Intracs ®em.

ENDORAQUIS, Madrid
The ENDORAQUIS 2024 Congress, the first Hispanophone congress 100% dedicated to spinal endoscopy, was held from 13th to 16th November at the Hotel Chamartín The One in Madrid, Spain. joimax® was one of the golden sponsors of the event. Many esteemed faculty of ESPINEA® and joimax® such as Ricardo Casal Grau, Miguel Loureiro, Alfonso García, Felix Domínguez Cortinas attended the meeting. Together with our partner Oyasama, we showcased the latest innovations in endoscopic spine technology from joimax®.
BISS Brussels
The 30th Brussels International Spine Symposium (BISS) took place on November 22nd and 23rd at BluePoint Brussels, Belgium. The event was attended by surgeons from many different countries. This year’s main topic was Safety and Complications in Spine Surgery.
In the Scientific Program, our faculty, Dr. Frank Hassel from Loretto Krankenhaus in Freiburg, Germany, and Prof. Woo-Keun Kwon from Korea University Guro Hospital, Seoul, South Korea, provided insights into how to overcome the learning curve in endoscopic spine surgery (ESS), navigation and robotics in ESS, complications and prevention strategies in full-ESS and the benefits of ESS.


Event Highlights in the United States
The joimax® US team had a busy fall attending the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, the North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Meeting in Chicago, the Congress of Neurosurgeons (CNS) Annual Meeting in Houston, and Spine Interactive Educational Program (Spine IEP) in Dallas. Endoscopic spine was a standout at all these meetings and our Team enjoyed numerous conversations with interested surgeons during all these events.
COA China
COA 2024 was held at Wuhan International Expo in Wuhan, China from December 5th -7th. The event brought together hundreds of enthusiastic visitors, all eager to explore the latest advancements in spine surgery. At COA, Intracs®em Navigation System impressed the visitors with its accuracy, while RoboFIX® highlighted its advanced capabilities. Additionally, TESSYS® Isee was also displayed, showcasing its transformative potential in endoscopic procedures.


Taiwan Spine Week
From December 11th-13th, a 3-day workshop was held at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. joimax® proudly supported 6 cadaveric stations during the Cervical Endoscopy Workshop, which welcomed over 25 participants from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, and Australia.
The workshop featured NAVENTO® Navigation Endoscopic Tower, iLESSYS® Delta, iLESSYS® Pro, and CESSYS® Dorsal System for hands-on sessions focused on Posterior Cervical Foraminal Decompression and ULBD. These sessions were expertly led by our esteemed faculty Dr. NurulAzwa Bin Mohd Noor (Malaysia), Dr. Yu-Hsuan Chung (Taiwan) and Dr. Wen-Chien Chen (Taiwan).

Company Christmas Party

The turn of the year is just around the corner and joimax® kicked off the festive season with a company Christmas party on December 11th.
After a warming mulled wine on the terrace at the EventFabrik of RaumFabrik Durlach, the party moved on to the cosy part, with gingerbread house building, white elephant gift exchange, an award ceremony for the most original Christmas jumper and of course a delicious Christmas dinner.
It was a great evening and a wonderful opportunity to catch up with colleagues – including our European Sales Team who made their way to Durlach, Karlsruhe.
