Indications for herniated intervertebral disc surgery with TESSYS®Thx
TESSYS® Thx is especially indicated for central and paramedian herniations and stenosis in the thoracic spine that were not improved by conservative therapeutical methods. Every surgical procedure on a spinal disc, including the TESSYS® surgery, has to be carefully prepared by using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and/or computer tomography (CT), as well as multiple conventional x-ray images.
In a recent study Bae J et al.1 states that endoscopic transforaminal thoracic discectomy with TESSYS® Thx is a feasible and effective minimally invasive treatment option with favorable clinical results. The overall rate of satisfaction in patients was high (90.2%) with a low complication rate (6.5%).
