IRVINE, CA – joimax®, the German-based market leader in technologies and training methods for full-endoscopic and minimally invasive spinal surgery, is excited to announce the global launch of its new generation tower, NAVENTO® Navigation Endoscopic Tower. Optimized for endoscopic spine surgery with special settings for the safe treatment of sensitive structures, NAVENTO® will be featured at the North American Spine Society (NASS) meeting in Boston later this month and at EUROSPINE in Vienna this October.

Irvine, CA – April 26, 2017 – joimax®, the German based market leader of technologies and training methods for endoscopic minimally invasive spinal surgery, today announced it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its Endovapor® 2 Multi Radio Frequency System.

The patented device generates electrical power for monopolar and bipolar cutting and coagulation of tissue structures in surgical operations. The joimax® Endovapor® 2 is an all-in-one generator with specially integrated programs for spinal surgery with interdisciplinary application. The device is equipped with two monopolar and two bipolar sockets and an easy and intuitive touchpad technology. With arc control for safe application and easy neutral electrode monitoring, it combines a variety of different electro-surgical modes and effects.

“After receiving the FDA clearance for the joimax® Vaporflex® and Legato® electrosurgical probes in early  November 2016, this is another milestone in strengthening the joimax® position as an expert in endoscopic minimally invasive spine surgery,” states Wolfgang Ries, Founder and CEO of joimax®.

joimax® celebrates 10 successful years on the market with TESSYS® at the WCMISST in Paris

Karlsruhe, 11.06.2014. joimax® looks back on 10 years of success with the surgical application of TESSYS® for the minimally invasive, endoscopic removal of herniated discs; a particularly gentle surgical technique which utilizes the natural transforaminal access to the spinal canal. TESSYS® was the first product that brought joimax® to market and was a breakthrough for the company. Today, joimax® offers a highly diversified product portfolio for 360° surgery in almost all areas of the spine including endoscopic and percutaneous stabilization.

During the award ceremony in Paris, two TESSYS® pioneers will be awarded with the “Parviz Kambin Honorary Award”: Dr. Florian Maria Alfen of Würzburg, who bought the very first TESSYS® system in 2004 and has successfully operated on more than 2,500 patients. As a member of the joimax® Faculty Team, Dr. Alfen has trained a large number of surgeons. The second award winner is Dr. Daniel Laich of Chicago. CMS Includes Endoscopic Spine in Fee Schedule Proposed Rule for CY 2017

Baltimore, MD – July 14, 2016– The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released the proposed rules for the 2017 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) and the 2017 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (HOPPS). Both proposed rules provide information on physician and hospital payment for the newly created CPT code 630X1 for endoscopic decompression of the lumbar spine.

“This is a great step towards the acceptance of endoscopic minimally invasive spine surgery techniques and their benefits to both the surgeon and their patients in the U.S.,” said Wolfgang Ries, Founder and CEO of joimax®. This announcement is in alignment with the reimbursement decision of NICE, UK, in April of 2016, to fully reimburse endoscopic procedures.

A key reason for the recent momentum for endoscopic, minimally invasive spinal surgery is the significant, favorable base of literature, which validates evidence of the efficacy of endoscopic minimally invasive spine surgery. A special edition, “Neurosurgical Focus”, published by the Journal of Neurosurgery (JNS) in February 2016, contains a range of studies on endoscopic spine surgery.

The Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Announces Agreement With joimax® To Support Creation and Launch of SMISS Registry for Endoscopic Spine Surgery

San Diego, Oct. 20, 2011 – The Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS), San Diego, CA and joimax®, Karlsruhe, Germany announced today the signing of an agreement to support the SMISS Registry as a founding sponsor for creation and launch of the SMISS Spine Registry for Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Spine Surgery. The SMISS Spine Registry was designed to collect valuable data concerning decreased hospitalization, recovery times, and complication rates of endoscopic spine procedures, as well as increased quality of life measures, subject satisfaction, and cost effectiveness. In today’s rapidly changing healthcare climate, it is imperative to ensure the ongoing availability of this data regarding efficiencies of care and quality of outcomes.

SMISS has assembled an outstanding research team with extensive experience within the spine field. The Principal Investigator for the Registry, Choll Kim, M. D., Ph.D, Executive Director and Board of Directors Member of SMISS states, “We are excited to partner with joimax® in the launch of the SMISS Registry, a project that will produce the relevant data collection and management necessary for the continued growth of minimally invasive endoscopic spine surgery. Rapid company growth prompts joimax® Inc. to move its US headquarters to a new, larger state-of-the-art facility

Irvine, CA – November 5, 2018 – joimax®, the Germany-based market leader of technologies and training methods for full-endoscopic minimally-invasive spinal surgery, announces the move of its US headquarters to a new 26,000-square-foot facility in Irvine, California, beginning November 5, 2018.
“With the move to the new building, the steadily growing need for endoscopic procedures among patients and physician communities can now be efficiently met,” states Wolfgang Ries, Founder and CEO of the joimax® Group. “Growth requires space — the continued demand in the US market creates a major opportunity which joimax® Inc. is addressing with the expansion of its US organization.”
The new office is located at 140 Technology Drive, Suite 150 in the city of Irvine and includes a brand new training and education center. The center offers a demonstration and wet lab training room displaying all joimax® systems and products, as well as a big audience room for didactics presentations. The first workshop will be held at the center on Nov 30th – Dec 1st, 2018.
In addition, the new facility will handle all corporate and business functions. Over the next year, joimax® Inc. will add more clinical support, marketing, and sales personnel in order to face the fast growing demand for endoscopic spine procedures.

From May 2-6, the 83rd American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Annual Scientific Meeting welcomed more than 3,000 medical attendees to Washington, D.C., to celebrate and reflect on both the history and future of neurosurgery.

The team from joimax® Inc. (Irvine, CA, US) participated in this important event as a corporate partner and showcased its products for minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS). Traffic to the booth was high and the team was very satisfied with the outcome of the meeting. One topic that came up during many discussions with the visiting attendees was the screw-rod system Percusys® for spinal stabilization. The product received 510k clearance in March.

joimax® founder and CEO Wolfgang Ries from Karlsruhe, Germany, was invited as the keynote speaker for the Practical Clinic session “Invention and Innovation in Neuro- and Spine Surgery”. His one hour lecture on the first day of the AANS meeting presented a compelling picture on how joimax® evolved since 2001 when the company was founded. Key products and technologies were presented as well which led to engaged discussions after the lecture. Teodoro Forcht-Dagi, Co-Director of the session, commented: „joimax® is a remarkable example of an innovative start-up company that evolved to a successful mid-size local company. joimax® holds the first international TESSYS® User Meeting in Veenhuizen, The Netherlands, and announces the launch of various new products for endoscopic spinal surgery

Karlsruhe, 12. May 2010. On 14 and 15 May 2010 joimax® GmbH holds the first international user meeting of endoscopic spinal surgery in Veenhuizen/Netherlands. Besides the ten reference surgeons about 30 participants and customers from Germany, Europe, the United States and other countries are expected to join the meeting. The scientific program comprises atwo-days conference which be opened with a keynote lecture of Prof. Dr. Gerbrand J. Groen of the university of Utrecht. CEO and founder of the company Wolfgang Ries will give an outline of the product offensive in the coming months in the field of access systems, ablation and drilling systems and the latest joimax® HD technologies.

One of the highlights of this event will be the opening ceremony of Rugkliniek Iprenburg in Veenhuizen. The head of this private clinic Dr. Menno Iprenburg, a long-time member of the joimax® Faculty, having completed more than 900 TESSYS® surgeries, states: „It was the right decision to give up my position as chief surgeon in Assen and to risk once again total self-employment with the joimax® TESSYS® method“, and, „this is also proven by the significantly increasing number of patients and the possibility of operating more indications with the joimax® endoscopic methods “.
