Chances of Recovery
In one out of five cases (20%), the classic open version of the operation does not completely solve the problem, if at all. However, with the TESSYS® method a success rate of more than 93% can be achieved (according to the results of a 1 and 2 year aftercare study), and the likelihood of a repeated hernia is low. The early recurrence rate can be kept under 4%, and the success rate for patients with a recurrent hernia is approximately 87%.
